"We recently got back from our 2nd safari with Yellow Zebra. They listened to what we were after, came up with a great itinerary that met all of our requirements and after a couple of tweaks we now have a trip booked that we." "Georgia and Diana at Yellow Zebra could not have been more helpful when booking our South Africa safari/winelands trip for next year. Malcolm advised us on possible camps and also hotels in Vic Falls after listening to our ideas and wishes and then put together the most wo." This time we wanted to experience Botswana and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. "Just returned from our first trip with Yellow Zebra and our fourth safari overall. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. *This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. You really can’t beat walking around this stunning area! On a clear day, you can see not only Lake Natron and the Great Rift Valley but also Kilimanjaro, the Ngorongoro Crater, and other surrounding volcanoes. You leave during the night and hike up the active volcano, getting to the top just before sunrise. We would recommend that everyone climbs Ol Doinyo Lengai.Walking along the shoreline will get you to the fossilized footprints of the Homo sapiens that traveled through the volcanic ash over 120,000 years ago. From November through to April, there can be approximately 2.5 million flamingos mating!.You do see the occasional wildebeest, zebra, and the rarer gerenuk, but the real animal highlight is the enormous number of lesser flamingos that breed in the lake.It is all about the scenery and learning about the little things that you normally miss on drives.Yes, you don’t get big game, but that is not the purpose of a walking safari – it is very rare to see cats and you don’t want to bump into anything bigger!.Activities in this area are focused on walking and we would argue that the best walks in Africa happen here.Y ou don’t come to this camp for the quality of accommodation – you come for the experience it offers. All tents boast full-size beds with high-quality bedding, lounge area with table and directors’ chairs, en-suite facilities comprising compost toilet and shower, and private path to the soda lake. A wide mesh net covers the accommodation, guaranteeing shade and encouraging fresh breezes. These are designed and patented by the owner/director of the camp. The camp has ten guest tents, named ‘Bedu shade’ tents. Not far from camp, there is a spring leading into a soda lake that forms a natural swimming pool! However, there is also a long table for dining. It is decorated in an informal manner, with hammocks, substantial cushions, and sumptuous Persian rugs. The main area consists of a Bedouin-style tent, underneath mesh net to ensure that guests keep cool. ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT LAKE NATRON CAMP: It is also exceptionally well placed for exploring the Lake Natron area. We think Lake Natron Camp, Ngare Sero is simply brilliant, one of our favorite camps in Africa! Great value, amazing location, and a camp that should be included by anyone on a trip to northern Tanzania! High praise indeed…so go and see it! ACCESS & LOCATION:
